Despite apparent improvements in drug attrition resulting from pharmacokinetic issues ^1,2, many promising test compounds still fail in development due to unforeseen side-effects or unfavorable pharmacokinetic profiles. Asterand can support lead optimization and pre-clinical development by performing a range of human tissue- and primary cell-based assays. Pre-clinical go/no-go decisions for drug candidates and formulations can be taken more reliably, improving the opportunity for enhanced success in clinical trials.

Examples of standard ADMET assays performed at Asterand are provided below. All assays are performed using fresh human tissue and / or using cells freshly isolated from human tissues.
