Fresh Biomaterials

For research requiring unfixed, unpreserved human biomaterials, Asterand collects samples from within its collaborator network in fresh format and express ships (refrigerated or ambient temperature) to client facilities within 24 hours of resection or autopsy (contiguous United States only). Human tissue delivered in this manner can be used for a variety of applications, including tissue culture and cell line development.

Fresh biomaterial services can be provided for:

Fresh Surgical Tissues
  • Surplus surgical oncology
  • Joint replacement
  • Other consented surgical material
  • Collected within 15 – 45 minutes after surgical presection
 Fresh Post Mortem Tissues and Non-Transplantable Organs
  • Collected 2- 12 hours post mortem (Timeframe is dependent on tissue organ requested)
  • Collected within one hour from organ donors
Fresh Biofluids
  • Whole blood samples
  • Serum
  • Plasma
