Frozen & Fixed Tissues

Asterand is a leading provider of high quality human tissues and accompanying clinical information. Our tissue samples are acquired through the use of rigorous standard operating procedures in procurement and processing. These procedures ensure collection and maintenance of high quality materials in the repository. Our XpressBANK^TM Biobank contains several hundred thousand samples available for immediate shipment.

Through our expertise in the human tissue procurement and processing, Asterand offers customers rapid access to high quality samples which allows maximum turnaround for experimental work and reduced experimental error due to poor sample quality. Furthermore, the detailed clinical information permits researchers to reach more definitive conclusions from their experimental results.

We offer our preserved tissues in several formats, to meet the needs of current biomedical research.

• Matched Pair
  Diseased/tumor and adjacent normal tissues from a single donor; available in formalin fixed paraffin embedded (FFPE) or snap frozen formats
  
  
• Mirrored Pair^TM
  A FFPE and frozen tissue pair from a single tissue, mirrored to each other
  
  
• Quad Set^TM
  A complete case of preserved tissue samples from a single donor; comprised of both a Matched Pair and a Mirrored Pair^TM
  
  
• Quad Set Plus^TM
  Comprised of a Quad Set^TM and additional biomaterials from that case. Examples include serum, plasma and blood

Asterand also offers individual samples, unaffiliated with other samples, i.e. distinct from any pairs or quad sets.

Our tissue formats provide high value to our clients; the quantity of material provided for each sample allows scientists to conduct multiple experiments using a single specimen.
