Human Primary Cells

Asterand has extensive scientific expertise in the isolation and propagation of human primary cells. Isolated primary cells are sustained at Asterand for limited periods of time and cryopreserved after minimal numbers of passages. These cells maintain their differentiated state and can be used as an in vitro model for the study of molecular and functional changes associated with disease.

The cryopreserved cultured primary cells offered include stromal cells from early cancers and matching adjacent normal tissue, as well as chondrocytes and synovial fibroblasts from OA patients. Cryopreserved primary cells currently available can be found at Asterand's online ordering page.
