ProCURETM - Custom Procurement Services

Tissue samples in specialized formats with specific data requirements are often extremely difficult for disease researchers to obtain, due to complicated logistics, human resource allocation and clinical contact networks. To help these investigators acquire these precious materials, Asterand offers a custom biomaterial procurement option as part of our ProCURE™ service division. We provide dedicated staff to identify clinical sites to source material, IRB submissions, project management, and site monitoring. Asterand alleviates client work in obtaining special samples collection by being the conduit through which samples are acquired and delivered. Our extensive collaborator network enables us to procure all manner of materials, from blood to tissue, cancer to multiple sclerosis, fresh to frozen.

Through our donor sites in the United State, Europe and Asia, Asterand maintains relationships with specialists in neurology, dermatology, rheumatology, oncology, pulmonary disease as well as multi-specialty groups. In addition, Asterand holds relationships with research networks for normal control biomaterial.

Cell line development, tissue culture and biomarker identification are just some of the applications for which clients use proCURE™. Asterand has successfully completed hundreds of custom acquisition projects, including those for biofluids such as fresh whole blood, serum, plasma and urine, fresh surgical oncology materials, and large collections of preserved human tissue samples. Our ProCURE™ customers are located at the world’s largest pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. A case study follows.
