XpressWay® Profiles

GryDiv

Asterand's objective is to provide you with the information you need to answer the question you are posing.

XpressWay® Profiles are quantitative human gene expression data generated using Asterand's qRT-PCR methodology. Profiles present data for a given target across 72 different non-diseased tissue types, each from 3 different donors (see Table 1).

Using a standard platform, Asterand quickly and easily identifies which human tissues express targets. XpressWay® Profiles can benefit your research efforts by providing the ability to:

  • confirm therapeutic approach
  • confirm microarray data
  • understand the potential impact of splice variants
  • exploit opportunities to switch indication
  • identify potential side effect liabilities
  • compare target expression between preclinical species and man
  • add value to proprietary sequences

XpressWay® Profiles are available for purchase and can be accessed from our expanding database of human gene expression data on a gene-by-gene basis, a tissue-by-tissue basis, or as a combination of the two. Our database currently contains human gene expression profiles for over 2000 genes, which can provide you with immediate access to the information for your targets of interest. XpressWay® Profiles can contain anything from the expression of a single gene in a single tissue (obtained from three donors) to multiple genes in multiple tissues; the choice is yours.

Each XpressWay® Profiles Report (click here for a sample 216 data-point report) presents visual expression profiles and a complete data set for your gene of interest. The data includes both the individual data points (derived from each of n=3 donor's tissue); including accession number, primer probe sequences, and all associated clinical information, as well as the mean of the expression across all three donors per tissue type.

XpressWay® profile for the Human Secretin Receptor (SCTR)
Secretin is a 27-amino acid peptide hormone that is secreted from duodenal S endocrine cells in response to acidic contents leaving the stomach. Secretin potently stimulates electrolyte and water secretion from pancreatic and biliary epithelial cells.

The XpressWay®Profile demonstrates the expected, high levels of SCTR expression in the duodenum and pancreas together with interestingly high expression in lung parenchyma and tertiary bronchus.

To add value to the data in XpressWay® Profiles, Asterand has developed its proprietary software TargetEvaluator®, which allows gene profiles to be compared, grouped, correlated and presented in different formats together. This provides functionality for preliminary data mining to identify those targets representing the greatest opportunity for further development.
